Blog: Soccer by Ives still likes St. Louis chances of getting a team.

From this posting. www.soccerbyives.net

CHRoS- What is the likelihood St. Louis is named as the next expansion team this weekend? I noticed there is now an official supporters group and they are meeting at Tigin downtown this weekend. You should check it out!

IVES- Not sure when it will be announced but I would put a lot of money on St. Louis being one of the picks and the announcement being made in the next week or two.

Event: Eads Brigade Heading To The Draft

We will be meeting at Tigin Irish Pub between 12pm and 12:30pm and will leave Tigin by 12:30 to walk down to America's Center together and go into the Draft.

Tigin is on the 1st floor of the Hampton Inn at 4th and Washington.

There is parking nearby at Laclede's Landing or the parking garages around the Edward Jones Dome. Or you can take the Metrolink and get off at the Convention Center stop.

Try to wear something soccer related or at least dark green or navy. Be sure to wear your Eads Brigade scarf if you have one. If you don't have a scarf yet, we will bring some to purchase ($15/each).

We want to have some banners and signs to hold up, so if you feel so inclined to make one, feel free. ESPN and Fox Soccer Channel (FSC) will be there so incorporating their acronyms might be a good idea. Also, no foul language and don't be too derogatory towards Garber or MLS. ;)

Cheers, and see you all on Thursday.

Event: 2009 MLS Draft in St. Louis

Hi all,

The draft is rapidly approaching, 7 days and counting.  We want to have a large turnout to show MLS our support for the St. Louis expansion effort.  Sons of Ben from Philly, had 27 people show up for the draft last year and it was in Baltimore!  I know we can do better than that, we have 19 confirmed so far.  If you plan on going and want to meet up with us, email us at vp(a)eadsbrigade.org

See you next week.
